Ready-Made Driver CPC First Aid Course
WorkSafe Emergency First Aid for Professional Drivers has been developed to enable instructors to offer a 7 hour training module that can count towards Driver CPC requirements. The course provides a single module that counts towards the overall requirement of 35 hours over a 5 year period.
Driver Certificate for Professional Competence (Driver CPC) is mandatory for all professional lorry, bus and coach drivers in the European Union. Periodic training is defined as 35 hours of training every five years, which can include a range of courses such as logistics, fuel economy, legal requirements and health and safety, including first aid training.
Professional drivers are more likely to experience roadside emergencies or accidents, therefore the importance of being able to respond safely and effectively is of great benefit.
The core syllabus of the professional driver course is taken from the Emergency First Aid at Work guidance which complies with the requirements if the Health & Safety (First Aid) Regulations 1981.
Additional subjects included in the Professional Drivers syllabus include:
- Heart Problems
- Neck and back Injuries
Worksafe instructors who are currently approved to deliver the EFAW and FAW programmes are able to deliver this programme, please contact us if you would like to add this course to your approval list.
It is important to note that for drivers to claim the CPC hours then the instructor must ensure they are working with a provider registered with JAUPT (Joint Approvals Unit for Periodic Training). Worksafe is NOT A JAUPT registered Centre and can only provide the first aid qualification and NOT the driver CPC registration.
