Ready-Made Driver CPC First Aid Course
Driver Certificate for Professional Competence (Driver CPC) is mandatory for all professional lorry, bus and coach drivers in the European Union. Periodic training is defined as 35 hours of training every five years, which can include a range of courses such as logistics, fuel economy, legal requirements and health and safety, including first aid training.
Professional drivers are more likely to experience roadside emergencies or accidents, therefore the importance of being able to respond safely and effectively is of great benefit.
WorkSafe Emergency First Aid for Professional Drivers has been developed to enable instructors to submit a 7 hour training course via an Approved Training Centre course to JAUPT, for the purposes of Driver CPC. Please note both the centre and course must be approved for the CPC hours to count as periodic training.
For further information on how to apply as an Approved Training Centre please visit https://www.gov.uk/guidance/set-up-a-driver-cpc-training-centre
The core syllabus of the professional driver course is taken from the Emergency First Aid at Work guidance which complies with the requirements of the Health & Safety (First Aid) Regulations 1981.
Additional subjects included in the Professional Drivers syllabus include:
- Heart Problems
- Neck and back Injuries

NB: Worksafe is NOT A JAUPT registered Centre and can only provide the first aid qualification and NOT the driver CPC registration.
