Embracing new technology and aiming to reduce our carbon footprint, WorkSafe are launching Emergency First Aid at Work and Paediatric First Aid digital student packs!
WorkSafe’s digital student packs will provide a faster and more economical solution for teaching first aid. As well as saving money on postage costs, the digital packs will also reduce WorkSafe’s impact on the environment – a pledge made in our sustainability policy.
Designed to incorporate new learning styles, our packs now offer digital resources for students.
We have developed a brand new student zone, where current first aid information is available to read at the touch of a button. Lifesaving advice is a click away, with easy to access subject pages, illustrations and treatment advice to reference during first aid courses.
Our student zone is available via our website meaning that following a training course it will be easy for students to access first aid information, rather than locating a reference book. Simply bookmark the page as a favourite to access quickly in a real-life emergency.
How will the digital packs work?
Instructors will place an order in our online shop for their chosen packs. Once the WorkSafe admin team have received and processed the order an email will arrive with your uniquely coded evaluation forms.
You will be able to access your self-assessment forms in the instructor portal download area when you complete your course notification.
During the course, the instructor will hand out the documents they have printed previously and will refer their learners to our Student Zone for the first aid content.
What if there is a problem with the internet during a course?
Although technology can be extremely beneficial, it does sometimes let us down! Therefore, WorkSafe are now selling stand-alone reference books and suggest that each instructor has 12 as part of their teaching kit. These books can be re-used for each course for those ‘just in case’ scenarios, including flat phone batteries.
Will I save money on postage costs?
Absolutely! UPS and Royal mail continue to increase the cost of their postage services, but the digital packs will be unaffected by this as there are no postage costs involved. Orders will not be affected by postal strikes or loss either!

Why is this move good for the environment?
As per our sustainability policy WorkSafe are committed to support the United Nations 2030 Agenda for sustainable Development. Our goal was to create electronic training packs by 2025 and we are very proud to have achieved this benchmark two years earlier than anticipated. Our digital packs will significantly reduce WorkSafe’s environmental impact through reducing the number of printed books, packaging and the impact of courier transit.
Will digital packs meet the needs of my students?
Don’t worry, our paper packs are still available and will continue to be offered as part of WorkSafe’s instructor resources.
It is important to put the needs of your students first and to ensure that individual learning styles are met through the teaching resources that you use. Digital resources are only suitable where students are confident in accessing electronic devices and have internet access.
Are there any other benefits for online reading?
Readability and Language barriers can be easily accommodated through our digital student zone. Google translate can help with subject specific vocabulary as our online reference materials can be translated into different languages. Font settings can be also adjusted to increase the size of the text.
