University of Suffolk

‘The team, the admin functions and kit ordering services are wonderful and make everything simple.’

Dr Marianna Stella, Senior Lecturer, University of Suffolk

Brief

The University of Suffolk wanted to include a recognised first aid qualification within its Childhood and Education degree courses. Senior Lecturer Dr Marianna Stella approached WorkSafe about becoming a qualified paediatric first aid instructor, to enable the university to deliver Department for Education-recognised first aid training.

Dr Stella wanted students not only to meet the academic requirements of their course, but also to gain a formal workplace qualification that would support their future careers.

Solution

After completing instructor training with WorkSafe, Dr Stella became a qualified Paediatric First Aid Instructor. The university now has the flexibility to schedule first aid courses around existing timetables and course structures. Students can choose between fully classroom-based training or blended learning options that include e-learning modules.

Result

WorkSafe continues to support Dr Stella by providing course materials, managing certification, and ensuring quality assurance and compliance standards are maintained. As a busy lecturer, Dr Stella also benefits from ongoing industry updates and fully compliant teaching resources, helping to ensure smooth and hassle-free course delivery.

“The support provided by WorkSafe for our business is second to none.”

David Eccles, Trainer

Brief

Cheshire East Council specialises in sustainable and creative environmental services. The Council already had an experienced trainer among their team who they wanted to use to deliver first aid courses on-site.

Solution

WorkSafe provided first aid instructor training, meaning all first aid courses can now be delivered in-house, by the Council’s own trainer.

This flexible training solution is ideal for the business as they can organise course delivery to suit shift patterns. All course materials are ordered from WorkSafe and our secure online portal records details of the successful candidates and generates their certificates. WorkSafe also ensure that standards expected by the HSE are in place, including an annual verification visit to ensure compliance.

Result

Ansa are confident that their staff can be taught to the appropriate level, with lead trainer David grateful of the support and contact provided by WorkSafe throughout the year: “I would recommend WorkSafe to any individual trainer or business looking for a suitable solution to their training needs. The support provided is second to none.”
