To comply with the Health and Safety (First Aid) Regulations 1981, employers must ensure training is delivered by competent, qualified and quality assured trainers.

To become a first aid instructor in the UK, you will normally need a current First Aid at Work qualification (or an appropriate professional exemption), together with a suitable teaching or training qualification. You will also need to demonstrate that you are competent to deliver first aid training and work within appropriate quality assurance arrangements.
