Febrile Convulsions
Febrile convulsions are seizures that occur in children, most commonly aged between 6 months and 6 years. They occur when the body temperature is raised, usually due to a fever and because the temperature regulation systems in the brain are not as well developed as in adults.
Febrile convulsions can be very distressing to see but are usually harmless and often accompany the child being unwell.
